Every person, whether white or black, likes to think of her or himself as open-minded and free of prejudice. At least that’s what we tell ourselves and our family and friends. But how well does your subconscious mind mirror your stated beliefs when it comes to African-Americans? If you are African-American, how do you feel about your own race?

Before you get to the test, you have to complete an information questionnaire, which is not terribly taxing, so don’t use it as an excuse for not doing this. If you cop out, I'll yell at you: "You can't handle the truth!!!"
When a few days have passed so that I know enough of my readers have taken this test, I’ll offer some thoughts on your results. I’ll be like the Dr. Phil of the blogosphere, except I won’t annoy you all by telling you, “You gotta ohhhhnn it, m'kay?!?”

After completing the IAT test it confirmed one suspicion that I've had for many years: the folks at Harvard have yet to figure out that you get better at a video game the longer you play it.
The first pass through the test is so obviously designed to lead the test subject toward an Eastern European preference that the results come out plain silly. By the time you get acclimated to the "controls" for the game, you're onto the portion that associates White Europeans with positive indicators. Of course the results skew in that direction because that's the point at which you "get it" as far as the controls are concerned.
That's ten minutes you owe me....
Interesting test. Dunno if it's an actual valid one, but it's interesting nonetheless.
I'm with Anonymous 10:06....although I'll be honest and say that you only owe me 5 minutes.

It said I have no preference.
It told me that I have no preference either way. Not true, I KNOW I prefer one over the other...
I very strongly concur with 10:06. To me, it was obvious that this test was rigged.
