It's Biden.

And I'm not disappointed. Well, I'm actually very disappointed because I thought Evan Bayh had this thing.

But I wanted Biden to be president when this whole shootin' match began. I'm just not sure how the Obama camp is going to help Biden finesse his earlier criticisms of Obama. Specifically, Biden said something to the effect that Obama was not ready to lead. Republicans are going to make Biden eat that statement like a sandwich.

Biden was an excellent choice. It's a strong and balanced ticket now and I believe that's what the vetting committee was trying to achieve.
Of course all of the politicos from all sides will look at Biden and go into attack mode for one reason or another but the truth of the matter is that it's not a shotgun marriage like Kennedy and Johnson in '61.
Good lord, Johnson said far worse things about Kennedy than Biden ever replicatied against Obama.
This is going to be very very nasty election and Biden will force Obama to grow a pair real fast.
On the flip side, the pressure is now on McCain to chose and the pickins' are pretty slim.

It is not a balanced ticket it is bottom heavy. Biden is everything Obama is not. I think Biden shows how weak a choice Obama is. I am not saying a weak condidate. I am saying how little he has in accomplishments. They think they would have problems with Bill Clinton being around. Have you ever heard Biden give a speech where he hasn't taken credit for everything?

This is probably the best of all tickets that Obama could put together. For months, we have been hearing that the selection of vice president is an indication of the judgement held by Obama. I think that this shows excellent judgement and will mute much of the criticism of Obama. As to the primary comments, it is quite normal for primary opponents of both parties to make statements and then regroup once the process ends. That will not be an issue.

Well True Conservative, it seems that Obama had more sense than to choose someone of Dan Quayle caliber and we know how that turned out don't we.
How is potaytoe spelled?
I'm sure that McBush's choice will be as exciting as watching paint dry unless of course, he picks Morman MITT or heaven forbid, Jokin'Joe.

Mittens would be the perfect pick for John Sidney McCain III: 2 old very very rich white men - the perfect GOP combo! Those two even make Bush/Cheney seem like salt of the earth.

I think Biden was a better choice personally - I think he'll be a great compliment to Obama, not to mention a bulldog. And Bayh said some pretty shitty things about Obama himself, so same problem there.

I wonder what the combined wealth of a McCain Romney ticket would be and how many homes would be owned by the two men.

I did not agree with Quayle and do not intend to support McCain. I am just pointing out that Biden is better qualified for the top spot. In fact, if he were running for president against McCain, I would vote for him. But as the pundits say people don't vote because of the vice president. My point is the ticket is not balanced all the gravitas is with the vice president candidate.

I think had he picked Clinton he would have had a lock on the election.

Folks,

Let's let Quayle off the hook for the potato thing, shall we? And, yes, I AM saying this because I've realized something critical. I was once a GREAT speller. Now I can't spell at all. You know way? Everybody say it in unison:

SPELL CHECK.

When we rely on technology to do a job, we lose our skills. This is why NOBODY at a drive-thru could even remotely calculate your order and the change due if the cash register broke down. Forget chemical weapons. If a terrorist can figure out a way to make the cash registers all malfunction, our economy would collapse.
